More than gardening

ways to volunteer

Whether you enjoy working with your hands, connecting with people, or sharing your skills, there's a place for you at Budded Mattah. No gardening experience is required—we have opportunities for every interest and ability.

  • Construction & Projects – Help build fences, raised beds, and other infrastructure that supports our gardens.

  • Food Hub Preparation – Assist with cleaning, painting, light demolition, and preparing our food hub for the community.

  • Neighborhood Outreach – Go door-to-door in the neighborhoods surrounding our gardens to share information, invite participation, and build relationships.

  • Garden Maintenance – Weed, water, mulch, and help keep our community gardens healthy and thriving.

  • Property Maintenance – Mow grass, trim weeds, and care for the properties that support our mission.

  • Garden Mentors – Encourage and assist program participants with planting, growing, and caring for their gardens throughout the season.

  • Demonstration Garden – Help plant, maintain, and harvest our demonstration gardens.

  • Community Events – Represent Budded Mattah at festivals, farmers markets, and community events by greeting visitors, answering questions, and sharing our mission.

Every volunteer makes a difference. Whether you can serve once a year, once a month, or every week, your time is what allows us to do what we do.
