Growing Hope, one seed at a time
Empowering food desert communities through urban agriculture, education, and connection.

The mattah (staff in Hebrew) budding is a biblical reference to Moses brother Aaron’s staff budding and producing fruit (Numbers 17:8). This is seen as an act of God for only God can bring life to that which is lifeless. We are a movement empowering residents with resources, knowledge, education, opportunity, and a vision with clear, measurable steps to ending food insecurity in Peoria.
ABOUT US
Budded Mattah Urban Agriculture is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to transforming food deserts into vibrant, sustainable communities. Through education, fresh produce sales, and community engagement, we empower residents to grow their own food and inspire hope.
Our for-profit arm supports our mission by selling locally grown produce, ensuring accessibility and sustainability.
